Medical Degree Courses..................At a Glance

For MBBS degree, graduate course is spread over four and half academic years divided into three phrases

🔹 First Professional Course , One year

🔹 Second Professional Course , One year

🔹 Third & Final Professional Course Phase Two and half years

Brief description of above phases

First Professional MBBS Course Phase One : During this 1 year period students are taught subjects of Anatomy, Physiology & Biochemistry. Students are also introduced to Community medicine. On clearing all the three subjects the students enter the Para-clinical phase.​

Second Professional MBBS Course Phase two : During this 1 year period students are taught subjects of Pathology, Microbiology & Pharmacology.

Third Professional Part -I Course Phase Three : During this 1 year period students are taught subjects of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology (FMT), Social & Preventive Medicine / Community Medicine (PSM). After clearing all these subjects in the University Examination , students can appear in next University examination i.e. Final Third Professional Part- II, illustrated below​

Final Third Professional Part -II Course Phase Four : During this One and Half Years period students are taught subjects of Ophthalmology ( Eye ) , Otorhinolaryngology E.N.T., General Medicine , Pediatrics, General Surgery , Orthopedics, Obstetrics & Gynecology.
The concurrent phase is important in the basic understanding of Clinical subjects.
The teaching and training requirement includes all aspects of patient care and Health. Final Prof- part I examination includes first three subjects and next four subjects are considered in Final Prof-part II exams.​

Internship

On successful completion of graduate course, all students have to undertake one year’s rotatory internship. The students are awarded the M.B.B.S degree only after satisfactory completion of internship. The internship programme is aimed at providing practical training in patient-care and health care of community. Students are required to maintain internship diary, which is required to be signed by Medical Officer in charge and Head of the Department. Duly signed internship diary is to be submitted before the internship certificate is issued.​

Residential Qualification :Applicants who fall in the category of permanent residents or local residents of Jharkhand state will be considered eligible for enrollment in Paramedical Institutes.

Education Qualification :

Educational Qualification- For Diploma in Para-medical must have passed Intermediate in Science stream/10+2 (Science) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology.
Age Limit- Applicant must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the examination year .
