Introduction

Department of Physiology, SNM Medical College is a full-fledged department involved in teaching and training undergraduate medical, paramedical and Community Health Officer (CHO) students.

A fully equipped AC Lecture theater, demonstration room and seminar room with 3D centralized Audio-visual system for power point presentation, video display, X-ray display etc.

Department has laboratories for Hematology, Clinical physiology, Experimental physiology and a separate Research laboratory.

Our library has a rich collection of reference books for the use of learner.

Adapting the new curriculum quoted under provisions of GME19 establishing a proper collaboration with departments of Anatomy, Biochemistry and Clinical departments. which uses didactic lectures, practical, problem-based learning, periodic assessment etc.

Vivid mix conventional as well as modern teaching learning methodology is being practiced as a part of continued teaching and learning programs , there are activities in research based participation from our faculty as well as learners members in academic presentations through seminars.

Team Physiology is always striving to adopt better options for interesting and effective teaching. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the department has contributed its out most at the time of critical services.

2. Activities

Department Research Project in collaboration with students. The department is providing various clinical lab services to the patient care services, which is a unique initiative by the department accordingly rendering the following services through Autonomic lab for automotive Function Test and Tread Mill Test (TMT). The Cardio-respiratory lab is providing PFT & ECG (12 lead).

3. Teaching & training

Due to COVID-19 pandemic issues being lurking intermittently, most of the teaching and learning activities trend hybridized in accordance with the demand and need i.e. online as well as offline modes of teaching was required and facilitated as and when managed . The teaching and learning methodology of the department include both conventional as well as modern approaches. It includes didactic lecture classes, practical classes; Problem based learning, Objectively Structured Practical Examinations and Weekly interactive Student seminars, Small group teaching (SGT), etc.

4. Achievement

To implemented new curriculum successfully for two batches. Department actively participated in conduction of - CISP I & II and Revised Basic Course Workshop (RBCN) under NMC Observer.
